My New Year's Resolution

I believe that over the christmas holidays in balmy Canada I mentioned to a few people that my new year's resolution is to do London properly. And do London I shall! And I will report faithful on my blog so that I may be publically shamed if I stop doing London as it is due.

To date:
The Slides at Tate Modern.
Notes: We got our free tickets, but then got distracted and didn't actually slide down them.
but I will (and there's a web cam)

Taming of the Shrew at the Old Vic theatre.
Notes: The Old Vic is Kevin Spacey's baby
Taming of the Shrew is performed using an all male cast.

Thames Whale at the Guardian Office today during my lunch hour.
Notes: um. I got whale free stickers and pointed to the spot on the wall just off the picture of the whale going under Waterloo Bridge where I was standing. That's fame for you.
I was embarrassed when I discovered that my co-worker Nick was lying about the live smaller whales also on display at the Guardian Office. There are not smaller live whales at the Guardian office. It was joke. Hey, it's london. weird shit happens here because it is london and some people have lots of money.

Bobby George at the bookstore by my office.
Notes: now, I had no idea who Bobby George is but my friend Nick, the liar, was very excited.
So excited that we loitered around by the book signing table and then left and came back before he got up the nerve to ask him for a photo.
BG said 'Lovely Jubbly' !(I'll see if I can get the photo off Nick!)

What an exciting lunch hour (NB: the slides and the play did not happen over my lunch hour)

It's a work thang

I've been told to post something! but it's hard because I still don't have the internet at home yet (saturday) and don't like doing it from work. (though apparently I don't have a problem trawling the internet for pictures of Britney Spears looking trashy/drunk/stupid to email a colleague who thinks Britney is planning the mother of all comebacks and can't wait).

I was also forwarded this today: Neologisms for 2007
(As the theme of this blog is work, I've pulled the most relevant)

* TESTICULATING. Waving your arms around and talking bollocks.

* BLAMESTORMING. Sitting round in a group, discussing why a deadline was missed or a Project failed, and who was responsible.

* CUBE FARM. An office filled with cubicles.

* PRAIRIE DOGGING. When someone yells or drops something loudly in a cube farm, and people's heads pop up over the walls to see what's going on. (This also applies to applause for a promotion because there may be cake.)

haha- not that I've ever really worked in an office with scary cubicles (I'm currently separated from my collegues by bulletin boards propped up by magazine holders).

The point:
My internet access is all about work right now and until it's not (Saturday) I can't really post anything until (Saturday) then.
