I got nothing

We're back on the grid! and I've no more excuses not to post or email (the local internet cafe was convenient but crusty --and when fellow internet users opened the strangely large door in came chilly wind and leaves etc.)
Mindful of Patricia's situation, I'll use cleverly coded language to describe both my placement at a large free daily in London (LFDL) and temporary job at what could be the best coffee company in the entire world (BCCEW).
So I really enjoyed my placement at LFDL. I was assisting the editorial assistant, making me the office bitch's bitch. He was a cool guy and just when I was settling in the placement ended. I am armed with a UK reference and confirmation that I still don't want to work at a paper (though, let's face it, I wouldn't say no to a job at LFDL). It took me about an hour by bus to get to LFDL, but every morning I was treated to the ultimate London moment: the view from Waterloo Bridge. Westminster to my left. Tower Bridge to my right.
BCCEW has amazing coffee and I am learning far more about coffee than anyone really needs to know, but it's fascinating. I feel quite lucky that I've been employed by ethical companies for the last few years. Companies that have a good ethos and respect for their employees. Though I finally saw The Corporation last night and am not sure that I want to be employed by anyone.
Our apartment is improving. We have a bathmat and a coffee table. It's nice to know there is a bathmat waiting for me when I come home. (John's turned all his attention and affection to his new PlayStation "but, London Darling, it plays DVDs too"). As this is not the first time I've lost out to a gaming console- in fact it's been a disturbing relationship trend-I'm taking it all in stride. I only 'accidentally' turned it off once.

London Darling, you had a NES yourself, and held it over our heads to boot.

I feel your pain as I too live with a video-game-crazed grown man.
